Mrs. Lori Payne To All Instructors
Lori Payne, mom to four wonderful sons, completed her homeschooling journey of 20 years in 2018. She graduated from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in Advertising. After graduation, she wrote feature articles for the Chittenango-Bridgeport Times, Chittenango, NY, while working as a graphic artist and copywriter for Pinegar Advertising, East Syracuse, NY, and other private clients. In 1988, Lori met and married the love of her life, Dennis Keith Payne, and moved to Culpeper where she worked for Minutemen Printers, Inc. as a graphic artist, both in-house and, after the birth of her first child, from home. Her pen and ink drawings have been used in several ads and publications, including a 1997 Culpeper Renaissance calendar of historic churches. She currently runs a freelance graphics business from home, Payne & Ink Creations (www.payneandink.com). Lori took 9 years of classical piano lessons from 4th through 12th grade. She has enjoyed playing piano accompaniment for school musicals and school and church choirs, as well as leading worship with her husband at the churches she has attended. She has been teaching private piano lessons for over 40 years. Lori organized and led a weekly seven-family Tapestry of Grace co-op from September 2006 to May 2014, has served in several board positions for the former PACE (Piedmont Area Christian Educators) homeschool support group, and has been an officer and played the tenor saxophone and clarinet for Cornerstone Community Band & Choir. She served as Technology Liaison for CHAMPIONS and is currently the CHAMPIONS for Christ Director.
