Mrs. Carla Hoke To All Instructors

My husband and I have been married over 34 years, and we have homeschooled and graduated all four of our grown children. We have lived in this area for 25 years. For the first 15 years, we helped my parents manage the Almond Tree Christian Bookstore and the Homeschool Shop & Tutoring Center. In 1997, I started the F.A.I.T.H. homeschool group with the desire to provide parents the support they needed to educate their kids. I had a passion to minister to parents who were just getting started in homeschooling, and I had a heart to help struggling learners. Over the years, I've spent time speaking at conferences on a variety of homeschooling topics: general guidelines, legal help, special needs, curriculum choices, learning styles, high school helps, and college preparation tips. I've taught most of the standard academic classes at all K-12 levels multiple times and really enjoy the sciences, mathematics, and art. I consistently endeavor to make learning both fun and meaningful, and I love the moment when a difficult subject suddenly makes sense to students. Once again, I'll be reading through Proverbs 3 and praying for each of the students to have a successful year of gaining wisdom.
